Payra Port, also known as "Deep Sea Port" is a monumental gateway situated at Patuakhali, Barishal. The bird alike concept has been derived from the symbol in the authority's logo and name, ‘Payra’ which is the Bengali term for Pigeon.
This gigantic structure represents the Pigeon’s physique. The middle portion of this gateway act for pigeon’s body and it has got wings on the both side of it. Between those wings, the top portion represents abstract form of a ship, and it is made of flatbed. These separated wings which represents pigeon’s body is topped by concrete capstone. This whole structure is a fully fair-face structure. As Pigeon never stays stiff and that is why this gateway is also not stiff rather its little twisted.
This representation of the structure stands in for expose monumentality and stability.
