The Tejgaon General Hospital was an academic project which was basically designed for a site in Dhaka City. The main focus was to utilize the most of the space with a proper and clean arrangements of the recommended programs. The considered landscape is contoured in this project to remove the monotony of a hospital complex.
The special design consideration was given to accessibility and ease of movement during rush hours. Almost 30% of the total ground floor area is covered by greenery. Build area is almost 40% for the ground level and other 30% is for the transportation/service roads or ramps.
It’s a seven storied building complex with a basement. The basement has more than 30 parking facilities with RADIOLOGY department and other logistics service in it. The ground floor consists HOSPITAL EMERGENY SECTION and GYNO OPD with a view of beautiful landscape. The IPD section starts from second floor till sixth floor with other mandatory hospital services. Third floor is dedicated to sensitive care like OPERATION THEATERS (OT)/ICU/CCU and administrations. The cafeteria section of fourth floor has a beautiful view of the green terrace. Also the open cafeteria gets the view of the greenery in the ground. Physical therapy rooms are on the seventh floor since it has a beautiful landscape in it.
